Sessions for week commencing 1st January. Happy New Year everyone!

Happy New Year!

Sorry for the tardiness with this. Booking forms are now up – please put your names down if you intend to come to any of the sessions.

Training this week is as follows:
Tomorrow (Tuesday 2nd January):
Mixed Fartlek on the track, comprising of:
5 * 90 seconds
10 * 1 minute
5 * 30 seconds
Each rest is 1 minute.

Mick has offered to take a social run if there’s any interest in that.

Thursday’s route is R5, which is just over 5 miles. There’s a small dark section in that through the Tennis Club, worth bringing a head torch for that.

See you tomorrow!

Sessions for week commencing 25th December (Ho Ho Ho)

Evening everyone – earlier than usual, the forms for next week (yes, club will be on) are now up. If you are coming, please put your name down.

In a break from the norm, we’ll be doing the interval session on Wednesday (27th) instead of Tuesday (Boxing Day).

Three points on that:

  1. We most likely won’t have access to the inside of the Hub, so you will need to make sure you pop to the loo before you get there (the toilets at the top of the iron stairs next to Icebreaker might be open)
  2. It’s likely to be cold, so please don’t be late.
  3. If you’re not used to running consecutive days on the bounce, then maybe consider taking the shortcut on Thursday (there is one).

Tuesday’s session is some buddy hill reps with Scully.

Thursday’s route is R4.

Merry Christmas Everyone, and see you in the week!

Sessions for week commencing 18th December

Evening everyone, forms are now up – as always, please put your name down if you’re coming.

See if you can get your head around this one. Tuesday’s set will be at the Rail College again and will be:
1234
(4321)
OR:
1 x 4 min
2 x 3 min
3 x 2 min
4 x 1 min
Each with 1 min recoveries. Should work out to be 20 mins of work with 10 mins of recovery – which doesn’t sound so bad.

Christmas run on Thursday, pizza available on request! See Lynn’s post in the Facebook group for the latest information. At the time of posting this the details though are:

Our annual Christmas pub run is on Thursday 21st of December starting from the Hub as usual.

Santa hats, lights, tinsel, baubles, costumes and reindeer ears are encouraged!

We’ll run to the Toby Carvery for a swift half, then onto the Childers for another before running back to Icebreakers.

Please bring some pennies to buy yourself a drink or two en route.

The pizza ovens will be on in Icebreakers and they’ll be selling:
Margarita £6.95
Pepperoni £7.95

If you’d like to order one for yourself or to share with another, please comment in the Facebook group (or let Lynn know) which pizza you want to order by Tuesday 20:00. This is just so we can give them an idea of how many to prepare for us. Please pay the bar staff directly on the night.

Hopefully lots of you will join in the tradition!

See you in the week!
