Approx. 8.34 miles. Mostly tarmac. Bit of gravel between Hayfield Lakes and Warning Tongue Lane.The snicket after the motorway bridge is a bit difficult to see – turn left as you come over the bridge and head as if you’re going into the cul-de-sac – the snicket is on the right immediately before the cul-de-sac, where the road surface changes. Cross Plumpton Park Road and the next snicket is opposite you.
Not Quite Loversall
Approx. 9.94 miles. Mostly tarmac. Gravel down by B&Q and again on Hall Balk Lane, then again after Amazon. Big puddles can accumulate on Hall Balk Lane and after the ‘Wanker’ bridge at Amazon. Avoid when it’s been raining (unless you want to get wet!)
T’Armthorpe
Approx. 10.11 miles. Boring alternative 10 miler for those who can’t navigate / when it’s been raining a lot.
Loversall, Wadworth and Cantley Lane
Approx. 12.09 miles. Mostly tarmac, some gravel over Amazon. As you come into Wadworth, before you go up the hill on the main road there is a stone wall on the left, with a footpath just inside that. Take the footpath up the hill and follow it around – don’t turn off. You will see Well Lane in front of you – go across that and it’ll drop you onto Carr Lane. Big puddles can accumulate after the ‘Wanker’ bridge at Amazon. Avoid when it’s been raining.
Rossington & Bell Butts
Approx. 11.50 miles. Alternative (and not unpleasant, although follows a lot of road) route into Rossington, then back through part of Auckley and along Cantley Lane. For when it’s been pissing it down and Amazon isn’t an option.
Littleworth Lane, Auckley & YWP
Approx. 14.19 miles. Mostly tarmac, couple of bits of mud and gravel. Footpaths into Rossington, then across up Littleworth Lane. Down Hayfield Lane, through the heart of Auckley. Bit of the Wildlife Park (nothing to see here!).
The Soul Destroyer
Approx. 17.96 miles. All tarmac. Into Bawtry. Back through Austerfield, Finningley, Auckley, Branton and Cantley. All along main roads. Possibility of getting stuck at the rail crossing in Finningley, but that’s the least of your worries on this boring course. Difficult to get lost, though.
