The Torne Trample is a flat 4 mile trail race predominantly run along the banks of the River Torne in the quiet Doncaster village of Auckley. Although the route is flat the trails can sometimes hold a few surprises for the uninitiated – we wouldn’t want it to be boring now would we!
2020 is the inaugural run of the race and is being held on Saturday August 15th, with the race itself starting at 12:30pm. We will also be hosting a 1.5 mile fun run starting at 1:30pm, open to all (but under 12’s must be accompanied by an adult). It is held in conjunction with the annual Auckley Show, so it’s a great day out for runners and their families.
Entry fees are:
Torne Trample – £10
Fun run – £3
Registration is based in The Danum Harriers’ gazebo on the Auckley showground and the finish line is also situated in the heart of the showground itself so you’re guaranteed a warm reception as you cross the line – and the start line is just a short walk away on Common Lane.
The Auckley show is a not for profit annual country show run by local volunteers for the benefit of the local and wider communities and holds a wide range of attractions such as agricultural machinery to explore, craft goods, good food and drink, and lots of family based activities for young and old alike to enjoy and take part in if that’s your fancy.
Race registration and number collection will open on the showground at 10am and the main event will start at 12:30pm on Common Lane – see map. Parking is free of charge and is adjacent to the showground on Riverside Park – follow the signs from the B1369 down Main Street onto Common Lane and Ravenswood Drive where marshals will point the way.
Danum Harriers very much look forward to welcoming you to our inaugural event, we hope you enjoy it!
